Well folks, after being offline for several months and working behind the scenes to bring to you a much needed face-lift to JGBeadedJewelry - it is finally back online!! (Champagne corks popping!).
I've had to learn quite a bit about the new system and find it to be significantly easier to use administratively and user friendly for you! Some images have changed (note the pretty flowers and butterflies above), but the original template was kept in tact since I loved it so much. Also, I didn't want returning visitors to be thrown off with a whole new look! I am positive that the ease of use, navigation and additional features will make the user experience simple (I like simple).
You can now filter by price, search for exactly what you are seeking, find the sales and gifts under $10 with a simple click and see what our latest promotions are.

Handcrafted Lampwork Beads and Jewelry by Sweetwater Designs - Featured Artist

JG Beaded Jewelry is delighted to feature Deborah Lambson, a skilled bead and jewelry creator and owner of Sweetwater Designs. Deborah discovered the ancient art of lampwork several years ago and has been entranced and intrigued ever since. The glass beads are created individually using a dual fueled torch, pencil like rods of glass and clay dipped mandrel (so that the hot glass bead will readily come off of the steel mandrel.) She said that “working with molten glass is rather like working with honey and it can take some time just to master the art of a round bead”.  She is most inspired by nature and loves to create something that mimics nature in some way…through movement, line or texture and she prefers subtle colorings to heavy handed primaries.  Although, she has noticed that time spent in Israel has influenced her color decisions. The sights and sounds of the lovely little country are being absorbed into her work and she is beginning to introduce more of those primary colors into her designs. Deborah has jewelry displayed in galleries and shops in Canada and can be found online at Sweetwater Designs for jewelry, or GreenBird Studio for loose beads so you can design your own fabulous jewelry! How to get the best pricing on sterling silver and other materials

The price of sterling silver has been on the rise for quite some time now. The last time I purchased sterling wire, the cost was approximately $13/oz. Nowadays it is over $35/oz! Silver prices for may 27th is $37.96. All I can say is OUCH and I am glad I bought more than I needed a couple years ago! With many companies, you never know what your final order is going to cost until you receive the bill. I feel that this practice is completely unfair. The price should be calculated at the time of the order.
On the other hand, what if the cost is lower when the order is invoiced or visa versa? Can't seem to win either way, maybe it's just the luck of the draw.
There are quite a few companies that I buy my precious metals, beads and gemstones from. It is always worth the time and energy to look around for the best offer. Generally, the more you buy - the better the price break. These days, the price break doesn't feel like much considering what we were paying last year and even the year before that!
I have noticed that many crafters are pooling their orders so that the best price is available to them. Great idea, but somewhat of a hassle. Who gets what - how much, ect. Many times, the sterling wire comes in one piece, unless you pay them extra to make the cuts in length which just seems like a waste of money to me. So, if you are in a circle of friends that have similar taste in metals, raw materials, loose beads, temporarily strung gemstones and beads, my advice is to get it together and make your order together. It's also an excuse to spend time with great people, share ideas and make a day out of it (or at least a few hours!).
